  • Description

Have you ever been unsettled by finding a loud heart murmur in a puppy at routine vaccination? Or felt out of your comfort zone when planning anaesthesia for neutering a patient with a diagnosis of congenital heart disease? Although uncommon, when we make a diagnosis of congenital heart disease in our patients, a knowledge of the pathophysiology and the impact on the patient are vital to manage them as best we can.

In this one-day CPD course, In this one-day course, you'll gain a practical framework to support decision-making across a spectrum of congenital heart diseases in dogs and cats. We'll cover everything from auscultation considerations and in-practice risk assessment to key factors influencing choices around anaesthesia and sedation.

    Topics to be covered include:

    • Investigation of heart murmurs in juvenile animals
    • Common congenital heart disease and pathophysiology
    • Differentiation of congenital heart disease in practice, and primary care decision making
    • Anaesthesia for patients with congenital heart disease
    • Assessing the risk - how will this condition affect my patient's prognosis?

Without doubt the best online and in-person CPD available to the veterinary industry. They have exceptional clinicians running the courses and offer excellent value. The annual online CPD practice membership is absolutely fantastic. A brilliant team behind the scenes. I cannot recommend highly enough.
