Description
This highly practical two-day course is designed to develop your skills in performing diagnostic echocardiography in practice. By the end of the course, you should feel confident in acquiring standard echocardiographic views of both the right and left heart, as well as performing M-mode and Doppler studies in a variety of dogs.
The course will review typical echocardiographic findings associated with common conditions such as valvular endocardiosis, dilated cardiomyopathy, and feline cardiomyopathies. Congenital heart diseases, including pulmonic stenosis, patent ductus arteriosus, and ventricular septal defects, will be explored through case-based discussions aimed at building diagnostic confidence.
Small-group, hands-on scanning sessions will provide the opportunity to develop muscle memory and refine the techniques needed to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
Topics to be covered include:
- Setting up the ultrasound machine to get the best image
- Standard echocardiographic views and useful measurements to make a diagnosis
- Doppler echocardiography
- Typical echocardiographic changes seen in common acquired and congenital cardiac disease
**Financial incentive given to delegates following the course, who attend with a suitable dog(s)**
After attending this course you'll be eligible for 20% off the Central CPD Virtual Echocardiography Training Programme - which offers a practical way to continue developing your skills, replicating real echocardiographic images and allowing you to practise scanning techniques in your own clinic environment.
