  • Description

The veterinary clinic can be a stressful place for many patients. Fear and anxiety can have lasting effects on their emotional and physical wellbeing, and may compromise the safety of both staff and owners.

The Calm Clinic Academy is a 12-month programme for vets, vet nurses and practice managers, designed to help you create a low-stress, behaviour-focused approach to patient care. You'll gain the skills to make meaningful changes within your practice and support a calmer, safer environment for all.

The Academy includes online training, case studies, assessments, and two in-person attendance days at our central London venue with experienced RVN and behaviourist Charlie Wright.

Attendance days are species-specific, focusing on how biological stress responses and behavioural coping strategies differ between cats and dogs - essential knowledge for managing patients, environments, and clinic protocols.

You can complete the online modules at your own pace from registration. Attendance days are also available as standalone courses.

The year concludes with a final assessment, including a personal reflection and your future role as a Calm Clinic Ambassador. You'll also gain access to a private Facebook group for ongoing support and case discussion, which continues after certification.

I was really impressed with how the whole day was set out and it was really nice to actually be able to attend a CPD lecture again, as it was nice to be able to meet other vets and nurses to get their views and learn how they do things in their practices.

Charlie was amazing, very passionate and knowledgeable. Lots of good tips picked up, and tons of information to reflect on.

    Emma James

The behaviour and emotional health of patients was so important to me, and to have a course that compacts so much information about the different areas of this field was great. From medications we can use in specific patient cases to how we can help care givers with certain behavioural concerns. Great modules from many great contributers and the in person learning days at Central CPD were a lovely, nice relaxed setting.
