Tackling Toxins

This one-day course for vets and nurses will equip you with the knowledge and tools to tackle poisoning cases in practice. We’ll discuss the importance of initial history taking as well as decontamination methods, including when/if emesis is needed and when it is effective. We’ll also review the most common poisons reported to the VPIS, and explore case studies which highlight appropriate treatment. Lastly, we’ll cover useful medications for your practice to stock, and where to source antidotes - as well as the different services that the VPIS offers.
