Progressing with Schedule 3

If you’ve previously attended our Schedule 3 Surgical Procedures day or are already confident with basic suturing, this course offers the opportunity to further develop your surgical skills and gain practical experience in advanced inpatient nursing procedures. Over the course of the day, you’ll begin with the essential theory before moving to the wet lab for extensive hands-on sessions to practise and refine the techniques learned.

Topics to be covered include:

· Tail and ear tip amputations

· Using active suction drains

· Wound closure techniques

· Central line placement

· Feeding tube placement and management

· Nasal oxygen catheters
