Practical Forelimb and Hindlimb Fracture Repair (2 day course)

In this two-day course surgical approaches, surgical planning, fracture reduction techniques and potential challenges will be introduced in short theory-based lectures prior to practical sessions, allowing you to gain an understanding of the basic surgical principles involved before moving on to spend the majority of the day practising techniques in cadaver-based practical sessions.

Topics to be covered include:

• Transverse radius and ulnar shaft fractures
• Lateral condylar fracture of the humerus
• Metacarpal fractures
• Supracondylar fracture of the distal femur
• Tibial tuberosity fracture
• Femoral shaft fracture
• Comminuted/butterfly fragment tibial fracture
• Species-specific considerations in fracture repair (cats vs. dogs)
