Description
This hands-on two-day course is designed to help you build confidence in the assessment and surgical management of common emergency presentations. The focus is on practical decision-making, patient stabilisation and the surgical techniques needed to manage cases such as upper respiratory tract obstruction, diaphragmatic rupture, GDV, septic peritonitis, intestinal obstruction and haemoabdomen.
Through a combination of short lectures and wet-lab sessions, you will work through case selection, peri-operative planning and technique refinement, with extensive practical time to consolidate core emergency procedures. The course is aimed at vets in practice who want to approach these challenging cases more confidently and safely.
Topics to be covered include:
- Â Â Â Tracheostomy
- Â Â Â Diaphragmatic hernia
- Â Â Â Systematic exploration of the acute abdomen
- Â Â Â GDV; de-rotation, gastropexy techniques, and partial gastrectomy.
