Lizzie graduated from the University of Bristol in 2013 and is currently a Lecturer in Veterinary Nursing at Hartpury University. She holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE), is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and achieved distinction in her End Point Assessment (EPA) in 2024.
Lizzie has extensive clinical experience in emergency and critical care (ECC), having spent six years as a core ICU nurse at Langford Vets (Bristol Vet School), followed by two years as Head ICU Nurse. During this time, she achieved distinction in her Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care Nursing (CertVN(ECC)) through Vets Now in 2016 and now contributes to the CertVNECC programme as a course tutor.
Alongside her academic role, Lizzie is an experienced CPD speaker and educator. She has delivered lectures and webinars on a range of ECC topics to both veterinary surgeons and nurses, including a Central CPD Emergency Nursing Day in 2021 and a webinar for the Army. Her teaching background includes clinical instruction and lecturing at the University of Bristol for both veterinary and veterinary nursing students.
Lizzie lives in Weston-super-Mare with her wife, two sons, a Chihuahua, a cat, and a tortoise.
