Practical Thoracic Ultrasonography (London)

This one-day practical course will cover machine set up, which probe to use and how to optimise the image to make sure you can get the best out of your machine in practice.

You'll learn how to evaluate and recognise the normal thoracic structures with ultrasound and how to interpret any abnormalities observed,  giving you the confidence to perform diagnostic thoracic ultrasound in practice on a wide variety of cases.

Topics to be covered include:

• The ultrasound machine - how to use the machine to its best effect.
• Familiarising yourself with the normal in order to recognise the abnormal.
• Imaging the body wall, lung surface, mediastinum and diaphragm.
