  • Description

The number of geriatric dogs and cats being seen in practice is increasing, and neurological cases in these patients can be particularly challenging. Neurological conditions in geriatric patients often present alongside multiple co-morbidities and age-related changes, making diagnosis and management more complex.

This course is designed to help you develop a clear and structured approach to these cases, improving confidence in interpreting neurological signs within the context of concurrent disease. We will focus on the most common neurological conditions seen in older patients, including degenerative, neoplastic, and vascular diseases. Emphasis will be placed on clinical presentation, diagnostic approach, treatment options, and prognosis, using an up-to-date, evidence-based framework.

By the end of the course, you will feel more confident recognising, differentiating, and managing neurological conditions in your geriatric patients.

    Topics to be included:

    • Vestibular syndrome
    • Canine cognitive dysfunction
    • Geriatric onset laryngeal paralysis
    • Polyneuropathy
