A learning series of four videos filmed at a Livestream event with veterinary nurse Nicola Lakeman.

Cats and dogs with diabetes are commonly seen in practice. These cases may present as an acute emergency requiring intensive nursing care and treatment, or be diagnosed from consultations such as obesity clinics, and need a more long-term approach to treatment and management.

In order to help owners manage their pets’ condition it is vital that we understand the physiology of diabetes mellitus and how to manage it; both in the short and long term. This may be through in-patient or out-patient care.
