A seven-part learning series for vets with Professor Clare Rusbridge.

Dogs, like humans, are living longer, but also like humans may not always age successfully. Increasingly, owners expect good healthcare for their senior pets as they are considered a member of the family: a dismissive “he’s just getting old” is no longer an acceptable explanation.

This series covers the increasingly common presentation of neurological deficits in the geriatric pet. Beginning with a review of the neurological examination and key points in history taking, we move on to cover the latest updates in the treatment of cognitive dysfunction.  The series also explores the correct approach and work-up necessary when presented with ataxia, weakness and seizures in an animal with multiple comorbidities. Case-based examples are used throughout.
