Niamh graduated from University College Dublin in 2011 with her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. Shortly after, she moved to the UK and worked in hospitals across London. She went on to obtain her Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing in 2015 and a Post Graduate Certificate in Veterinary Education in 2018. She joined the RVC in 2013 as a theatre nurse at the Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital. In 2016 she joined the Queen Mother Hospital for Animals an an anaesthesia nurse. As of September 2017 became a clinical educator in anaesthesia for the veterinary nursing school at the RVC. Following on from this she was given the oppertunity to take a secondment from her clincial role to create the anaesthesia designation for the Certificates in Advanced Veterinary Nursing. Following the sucessful completion of this she took a role as a Teaching Fellow at the School for Veterinary Nursing and is the Deputy Co-Course Director for the Certificates in Advanced Veterinary Nursing, the module leader for the anaethesia designation of the CertAVN, and module leader for the undergraduate anaesthesia module. In 2023, Niamh became the editor and contributor to The Veterinary Nurses Practical Guide to Anaesthesia, a textbook published through Wiley Blackwell.
