Ellie Mardell

Ellie works part-time as a consultant in internal medicine for Axiom Veterinary Laboratories. The remainder of her time is divided between specialist locum work and teaching and advising on her favourite subject, feline medicine.

Some years ago, Ellie was lucky to undertake one of the last UK feline medicine residencies, provided at the Animal Health Trust. She then worked at Bristol University for a year. Following this she gained the RCVS Diploma and Specialist Status in Feline Medicine, whilst working in private referral practice. Ellie has a particular interest in respiratory disease and haematology.

She is also passionate about ensuring quality of life for cats of all ages and in all states of health and disease, through an understanding feline physiology, nutrition, psychology, and expression of emotions.

Her teaching encourages the ability to combine the best use of both a problem-solving approach and a more pragmatic pattern recognition system.
