Eleanor spent 7 years working full time as a vet, in both first opinion and latterly specialist practice, attaining ECVIM and RCVS specialist status in small animal medicine after a residency at the University of Cambridge. A PhD in the genomics of human metabolic disease followed and since 2014 she has focussed on leading a lab group studying the genetics and pathophysiology of obesity and eating behaviour, starting with canine genetics but translating our results into veterinary clinical relevance and human genetics too. Eleanor offers an obesity referral service for pets at the University of Cambridge’s teaching hospital.
