Manhei obtained her veterinary degree from the University of Adelaide (Australia). Since graduation she has undertaken a wide variety of positions interstate and overseas including: intern at Perth Veterinary Specialist (Perth, Western Australia), general practice/ER clinician, peripatetic veterinary ultrasonographer across Asia (Hong Kong, Singapore, Macau, China) providing referral based abdominal ultrasound and echocardiogram consultations, adjunct lecturer at the University of Adelaide School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, and lecturer for continual education diagnostic imaging courses.
At the end of 2019, Manhei started up SonoVet, a referral-based peripatetic veterinary ultrasound and imaging consultancy service in Australia. She has provided referral to 5 Australian states (QLD, NT, NSW, VIC, SA), involved in research to aid in the development of new human medicine, veterinary medicine and conservation of critically endangered Australian wildlife, and delivered many ultrasound courses to fellow veterinary clinicians and students. Manhei sits on several committees at the University of Adelaide School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences, including President (2022 – current) of the Roseworthy Veterinary Alumni (RVA).
Her passion for diagnostic imaging has taken her to complete post-graduate university studies in imaging, as well as obtaining Australian New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) Membership by examination into the Small Animal Radiology chapter.
In 2024, she moved to Cambridge, UK, to complete a diagnostic imaging residency under the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging (ECVDI) at Dick White Referrals.
