Practical Advanced Soft Tissue Surgery (2 day course)

This two-day course is designed to introduce you to a selection of less commonly performed soft tissue procedures, including thoracic surgery. While lecture sessions will cover indications and post-operative care, the main focus will be on how to perform the surgeries themselves. Highly practical, cadaver-based sessions across both days will provide hands-on experience, with discussion of tips and techniques to help optimise outcomes.

Topics to be covered include:

• Approaches to the thorax: thoracotomy and exploratory sternotomy
• Lung lobectomy & pericardectomy
• Oesophageal foreign body surgery
• Approach to PDA and PRAA
• Liver lobectomy
• Stapled gastro-intestinal anastomosis
